This one just shocked the public because we somehow hold celebrities to some higher ground (especially ones who created a movie about Christ). Until the day people see celebrities as average joe's with typical insecurities, typical prejudices, typical chauvinism, and typical needs....no fair judgment can be made. But I agree with you. It's a private conversation that shouldn't be aired. It's obvious she wants to rally public support over to her side. It's ironic that all the invectives and accusations Mel hurled at her....(gold-digger, trashiness, cold-heartedness, soul-less) are all being proved by her full scale offensive to destroy Mel's career. We both agreed that when only one person knows that a conversation is being recorded, that person definately has the upper hand when it comes to making sure who comes out looking good & who comes out looking bad. We both feel like she was rather trashy in putting these recording out for the public to hear. If there's a problem with Mel in which she needed assistance, she should have handled in confidentially with the police. My husband & I had a discussion about this last night.
